Butler lost their inside toughness with the graduation of Joel Cornette.They also lost Darnall Archey and leading scorer Brandon Miller.it will take time for them to adjust to the new faces.Northern Iowa returns all 5 starters from last year and bring an excellent recruitng class.I think the right team(N.Iowa) is favored in this situation.

Both teams are off of cupcake wins (1-0 apiece) and this will be a bigger test. Northern Iowa has the home court, but they lack depth and that could hurt here. The Butler Bulldogs play great defense which keeps them in every game (allowing 62 ppg on the road). Senior forward Mike Monserez and 6’-5” senior Duane Lightfoot provide a big backcourt, while 6’-8” sophomore Andy Grunst anchors the low post for Butler. This team was an impressive 13-5 SU, 9-6-1 ATS on the road last year!!! The Northern Iowa Panthers have a decent frontcourt with 6'-6" senior David Gruber and 6'-7", 240-lb senior Matt Schneiderman but there are question marks in the backcourt. Still, N-Iowa went 8-5 SU/6-6 ATS at home last year and may be able to keep this defensive game relatively close!!!
